However, for these mega-projects to break out of state monopoly and become direct projects of humanity, a new ownership model is needed. This model is based on turning energy into a digital asset and integrating it into the social media ecosystem.​PROPERTY RIGHTS AND THE “SIGNATURE OF ELECTRICITY” CONCEPTBeyond energy being a physical commodity, every single Watt produced (or every single photon directed) in space is cryptographically encrypted at its source.​Signature of Electricity: Just like a painter’s signature on an artwork or the NFT logic in the digital world, a digital seal is stamped on the energy produced by the solar funnel in space.​This seal proves which funnel that energy came from and who holds the property right (the owner). My payment of these subscriptions serves as proof of my ownership of the project.​Each panel of the solar funnel or the signature-guaranteed energy packages it produces is opened to subscription via social media profiles.​Users become monthly “Subscribers” to space projects they like, support, or directly want to partner in energy ownership.​FINANCIAL OPERATION: THE “SUBSCRIBER PAYS” MODELThe key point of the system is spreading the financing to the base:​Continuous Cash Flow: The construction and operation costs of the project or funnel are paid directly by the subscribing users (the public).​What Does the User Gain?: In exchange for the subscription fee paid, the user not only consumes content; they also get a share of the property right of the “Signed Electricity”. The user can use this energy either to deduct from their electricity bill on Earth or sell it in digital markets as carbon credits.​The user gives the money, the system works smoothly. For example, a collector operating around 0.5 AU receives about 4 times the solar radiation per unit area as one in Earth orbit. This is a strong rationale for designing STC-FUNNEL-02 as a very large, modular “mirror/collector swarm” rather than small-scale prototypes.​However, there are three fundamental physical limits to sending energy to Mars:​As it gets closer to the Sun, the collector gathers more energy, but material temperature, radiation, micrometeoroids, and orientation control become more difficult.​Mars is a distant target; the light beam spreads due to diffraction. Therefore, very large aperture optics, precise phase control, or a large number of coordinated mirrors are required to send a narrow beam to Mars.​It is risky to deliver concentrated light directly to the Martian surface. Initially, polar ice caps, selected regolith areas, or controlled targets that enhance the atmospheric/greenhouse effect should be considered.​Therefore, the concept of “funnel” should be defined more accurately from an optical point of view as follows:​STC-FUNNEL-02 is a modular space energy platform located in an orbit closer to the Sun than Mars; consisting of hexagonal, retractable, thin-film reflective or photovoltaic modules; aiming to transfer the solar energy it collects to Mars in the form of electrical, thermal or directed optical energy.​Three Operating Modes for Heating Mars​Direct optical steering: Wide, light, and precise steerable mirrors reflect light to Mars. It is the most direct “heating by funnel” approach; however, the targeting and diffraction problem is the most severe option.​Conversion to electricity and beaming energy: Near-Sun collectors convert light into electricity; electricity is transferred to receivers in Mars orbit/surface via microwave or laser. Control and measurement can be better; there are conversion losses.​Secondary distribution in Mars orbit: Near-Sun systems support energy or equipment production; mirrors around Mars direct sunlight locally to selected areas. It can reduce the long-distance narrow beam problem.​The Reality of Scale​Changing Mars’ global climate in a meaningful way requires an extremely large amount of energy.
